Denny Matthews
I met a Royals legend and personal hero this past baseball season. Mr. Denny Matthews was kind enough to greet my Father and I up in the press box before a hot summer game in August. I am sure that one of baseball’s many statisticians has figured out how many Royals games that Denny has called. It would be in the thousands considering that he has been the play by play announcer for the team ever since 1969. Denny is inked to continue broadcasting through the 2018 season. That suits me just fine. I wish that he could call Royals games for the rest of my life. He is baseball!
